Some soft plastic bass baits float or are very buoyant, and others sink. This is usually done by design, as rigging methods and bass can favor one over the other.

In this “What it Looks Like,” we take a side-by-side comparison look at how floating vs. sinking worms perform on a drop shot rig. The difference becomes immediately apparent – this may influence you to consider more buoyant soft baits on rigging methods where the bait is intended to be presented horizontally and/or remain suspended at a specific depth off the bottom.

The Z-Man Finesse TRD is a very buoyant bait wheres the Z-Man ZinkerZ is designed to slowly sink. Same manufacturer, similar bait profiles, but a different design intent equal big differences under water.
