We caught up with Gerald “GMAN” Swindle earlier this year after the first two Bassmaster Elite Series events of 2016 to talk about fishing styles and philosophies as a long time competitive angler. He wouldn’t know it then, but this discussion on how he’s changed his fishing approach to better match his personality couldn’t be more timely in light of his 2016 Bassmaster Angler of the Year win on Minnesota’s famed Mille Lacs Lake 5 months later.
He digs deeply into fishing fast vs. fishing methodically, and makes his case for slowing down and taking your time in productive fishing areas.
Sit back and let Swindle inspire you to assess your own fishing style and possibly change your own fishing philosophy.
“Man over the last 6-8 years I’ve really studied the styles of fishing and how people fish. And I’m gonna tell you, I think the most dominant fishermen are the guys that fish to their personalities, to their personal strengths. For instance, yeah Kevin is a very fast, fast fisherman and it’s almost controlled chaos at times!”
