Remember when Zakk Royce caught the North Carolina record catfish from Lake Gaston twice in a 24-hour period?
According to multiple reports, 15-year-old Landon Evans just landed a 117-pound, 8-ounce blue catfish from the same lake, besting Royce’s 108-pound catch from 2015. Evans’ catch measured 55 inches in length and 40.5 inches in girth and was caught on cut shad.
The fish was examined and weighed on certified scales by the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission. What a catch, Landon! Congratulations!
