Simms Fishing Products, the country’s last and only domestic wader manufacturer, is disclosing the secret to making the best waders in the world. And it turns out the answer was right under their nose.
Today, the company is releasing a new film, The Wader Makers, which focuses on 7 Bozeman based individuals who work on the wader production team at Simms. In addition, a new microsite featuring in-depth information on the wader making process was created to support the story. As the campaign unfolds, individual stories will also be told about the individuals featured in the campaign.
“We have always relied on our Bozeman, Montana-based wader manufacturing team as the bedrock of our company and brand,” says K.C. Walsh, President of Simms. “We wanted to focus on the ways we could tell richer stories about the amazing individuals who handcraft the world’s best waders.”
Simms manufactures all of its premium waders by hand in its Bozeman, Montana-based headquarters. Utilizing industry-leading and proprietary GORE-TEX® fabric technology, the waders leave Bozeman, Montana and travel to over 50 countries where Simms waders are sold.
“Our most important advantage as a brand is that our team who builds our waders are passionate about what they do,” says Robert Gibson, Simms’ Sr. Director of Operations. “It’s exciting to see such a beautiful marketing campaign focused on our people.”
As part of the campaign, the company is announcing scheduled tours at the facility to give visitors a curated experience of the facility while learning more about the wader making process. Tours will run the length of summer Monday–Thursday at 1:30pm local time.
Other portions of the campaign will unveil throughout 2016, with a major emphasis playing out at this summer’s International Fly Tackle Dealer (IFTD) show in Orlando, Florida, where Simms will announce its 2017 line of products.
