Jeff Kriet posted on social media this week about a house fire that burned down his shared home in Texas along with two trucks, a trailer for his saltwater boat and a large amount of saltwater tackle. He and fellow Major League Fishing Bass Pro Tour angler Gerald Spohrer were fishing offshore overnight in Texas on Sunday evening for yellowfin tuna. The neighbors saw the fire that night and tried calling Kriet who was out of cell range at the time. Upon returning to cell range Monday, Kriet began getting frantic calls about the fire at his place.
He shares the home with three other people, and it is not Kriet’s primary residence. No word on the cause of the fire at this time. Here is a video his neighbors shot that they sent to Kriet after calling authorities.
