With jerkbait season in full swing, we thought it a good time to reveal a unique bait that’s been producing bass under the radar for some time. Jerkbait fishing expert Randy Blaukat explains why the Megabass X-80 Trick Darter is among his favorite baits for Ozarks bass and beyond.

The X-80 Trick Darter maintains a finesse profile that appeals to all bass species. A unique attribute of this bait is its extreme darting action, which can be achieved with relatively small twitches. Randy emphasizes the importance of dialing back your typical jerkbait cadence and implementing a ‘reel and pull’ retrieve interspersed with small twitches.

While a proven largemouth and spotted bass bait, the Wired2Fish team has excellent success with the X-80 Trick Darter for smallmouth bass as shown in this TV Show (Lund Ultimate Fishing Experience).
